Sebastian Fundora and his younger sister, Gabriela, are going to be fighting on the same card as professionals for the first time in October, a source told ESPN.
The fights are expected to take place on Oct. 8 at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. Opponents are yet to be finalized. While the card is yet to be finalized, Sebastian is expected to be one of the card’s headliners. Gabriela will be on the undercard.
The brother and sister tandem train together under their father, Freddy Fundora, in Coachella, Calif.
Sebastian Fundora (19-0-1, 13 KO), ESPN’s No. 2 junior middleweight and the WBC interim champion in the division, last fought on April 9, when he stopped Erickson Lubin in the ninth round for the interim junior middleweight title. The 24-year-old ended four of his last five fights before going the distance.
Gabriela Fundora (8-0, 4 KO) fought on July 28 in a unanimous decision win over Lucia Hernandez Nunez in an eight-round fight. This will be the third time she is fighting at Dignity Health Sports Park, where she won the first two fights of her career.
This will be the 20-year-old’s 10th fight — one was ruled a no contest last October — since turning pro in May 2021. She was named as one of ESPN’s female fighters to watch at the start of 2022.
