No. 5 Tennessee not only lost to South Carolina on Saturday night; it also lost Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback Hendon Hooker, who tore the ACL in his left knee, the team announced Sunday.
Hooker left the 63-38 defeat in the fourth quarter after falling and fumbling without being hit.
He was 25-of-42 for 247 yards and three touchdowns before his injury. He didn’t have his typical crisp game, overthrowing receivers and missing a few wide open throws.
