KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Patrick Mahomes threw his second touchdown of the game — and first since suffering a first-half injury that caused him to miss time — in the fourth quarter to help extend the Kansas City Chiefs‘ lead. Mahomes’ 6-yard TD strike to Marquez Valdes-Scantling, which came on a 10-play, 75-yard drive, staked Kansas City to a 27-17 lead over the upset-minded Jacksonville Jaguars.

Earlier in the game, Chad Henne‘s first career NFL playoff touchdown pass, while subbing for an injured Mahomes, came after he led Kansas City on a 98-yard drive culminating in the second touchdown catch of the day for tight end Travis Kelce. The reception was Kelce’s 10th of the first half, and the ensuing point-after staked the Chiefs to a 17-7 lead.
