Floyd Mayweather will take on Geordie Shore star and former MMA fighter Aaron Chalmers in an exhibition fight at the O2 Arena in London on Feb. 25.
A knee injury meant that Mayweather’s original opponent, Muay Thai fighter Liam Harrison, had to withdraw from the bout. Chalmers, who stars in Geordie Shore — England’s equivalent to U.S. reality show Jersey Shore — has stepped in to replace him.
Mayweather said on Instagram: “Different face, different name, same results. #London we are still rocking and rolling on Feb. 25th at the O2 Arena. Tickets will be on sale soon. Stay tuned!!”
Mayweather retired from professional boxing in 2017 but has returned to fight in exhibitions against YouTube stars and competitors of other fighting events.
Most recently, the 45-year-old defeated YouTuber Deji Olatunji — brother of boxer and musician KSI.
Chalmers retired from MMA in 2021 and signed a deal with boxing promoters BOXXER last year.
The bout is one of a series of fights over recent years involving TV and internet stars.
