Giro d’Italia: Geraint Thomas ‘devastated’ but ‘proud’ after losing lead

Welshman Geraint Thomas is “devastated” but also “proud” of his efforts as he slipped to second place in the Giro d’Italia behind new leader Primoz Roglic, who is set to win the race in Sunday’s processional final stage in Rome.

According to tradition, the leader will not be challenged for the overall victory.
