Chiefs believe Kelce’s ACL is intact, source says

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce hyperextended his knee in Tuesday’s practice, coach Andy Reid announced.

“We’ll just see how he does going forward,” Reid said.

The Chiefs open the NFL season on Thursday night when they host the Detroit Lions.

Reid said Kelce’s knee was being looked at by team personnel and didn’t provide any other updates on his star tight end.

Reid also said there has been “no progress” in talks with holdout defensive tackle Chris Jones, who is seeking a new contract.

“We’re focused on the guys that are here, getting ready to play the Lions and that’s where I’m at. If you’re not there, you’re not there, that’s the name of this game,” Reid said.
