Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell will miss at least one week after having surgery Tuesday to repair a nasal fracture.
In a statement, the Cavs said Mitchell was injured Saturday in a loss to the Houston Rockets and missed Monday night’s road win over the Indiana Pacers because of the injury. Mitchell will be reevaluated in approximately one week, the team said.
Before the Rockets game, Mitchell had missed seven straight games because of a left knee bruise for which he received a platelet-rich plasma injection.
Mitchell is averaging 27.4 points and career highs of 6.1 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game this season for a Cleveland team that enters Tuesday third in the Eastern Conference.
