There has been a lot of talk surrounding the abundance of 200+ scores in the ongoing IPL 2024 with both fans and experts asking for some balance between the bat and the ball. Teams have crossed 200 on 25 different occasions in IPL 2024 and a lot of former and present cricketers expressed the concern over the game tilting completing towards the batter’s side. However, legendary cricketer and former India head coach Ravi Shastri delivered a brutal message to the bowlers and asked them to stop ‘whinging and mourning’ and rather ‘focus’ on how to execute their plans and add to their skills.

“Great opportunity watching this IPL for bowlers to focus on the time tested and execution of things that have lasted the Test of time. Rather than in pursuit to add baggage to your limited armoury that you can’t execute. Get stuck in to your strengths and focus. Great OPPORTUNITY to Stand out. Cut the whinging and mourning. FOCUS,” Shastri posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took to X to send a plea for the bowlers as Punjab Kings completed a sensational run chase to defeat Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 on Friday. PBKS chased down a mammoth total of 262 to complete the highest run-chase in the history of IPL.

“Save the bowlers” someone plsss SOS SOS SOS #KKRvsPBKS #IPL2024,” he posted on X.

KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer was left stunned by PBKS’s record run chase.

“I would have (taken 260 at the start of the day). The way the batters batted was tremendous to see, Sunny coming in.. the way Salt batted, they delivered and it was a treat for the eyes. Both the teams played tremendously, one of those games where you go back to the drawing board and see where it went wrong especially not being able to defend 260. We have to sum up the conditions and come up with better ideas. It is brilliant to see him (Narine) go out there and strike the ball, hopefully he keeps continuing with such performances,” Shreyas said at the post-match presentation.
