As the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs Gujarat Titans (GT) clash was washed out, the 2-time champions were assured of a top-2 finish in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 campaign. The result means KKR would be given two chances of sealing a spot in the final. As Knight Riders star Nitish Rana caught up with commentator Harsha Bhogle after his side’s match against Mumbai Indians, a hilarious conversation took place between the two. Rana, who hasn’t played much cricket this season due to injuries, gave an epic reply when informed by Harsha that he can’t take his eyes off his hands.

“Yeah, it’s fine now, but I can’t show it here on camera because it’s the middle finger (chuckles). I’m happy to be back in the team after missing 10 matches. It was a challenging period for me, as I’ve never sat out for so many games in the IPL. I’m grateful to the KKR management for their faith in me and their belief that I can still make an impact in the game,” Rana told Bhogle.

This season, Rana has faced a frustrating period on the sidelines after injuring himself in the first game of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The all-rounder missed 10 games in a row, with youngster Angrish Raghuvanshi taking his place in the side and delivering goods with the bat.

The left-handed batter made his comeback against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday (May 11) in Kolkata and scored 33 runs in 23 balls.

As for the match against GT, rain played spoilsport, forcing the entire match to be abandoned without a ball being bowled. As points were shared, KKR strengthened their position at the top of the points table while Gujarat Titans were officially knocked out from the playoffs race.
