How to follow British Grand Prix on the BBC

Round 12 of the 2024 Formula 1 season heads to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix from 5-7 July.

At the Red Bull Ring, George Russell delivered Mercedes’ first win since 2022 after a collision between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris while they were fighting for the lead of the Austrian Grand Prix.

McLaren’s Norris had to reitre from the race, while championship leader Verstappen finished fifth.

Norris’ team-mate Oscar Piastri was second and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz took the final podium place in third.

There will be BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra commentary of the British Grand Prix across the BBC Sport website and app, with Sunday’s race available on BBC Radio 5 Live.

If you are heading to Silverstone for the grand prix, you might want to pack a coat and an umbrella, as the early forecasts are predicting rain across the three days of track action.

In typical British summer time fashion, Saturday and Sunday are most at risk of some showers, while Friday looks to be the most settled at the moment.

The forecast also says a moderate breeze will be present across the weekend.
