MINNEAPOLIS — It took the Minnesota Vikings until the first possession of the third quarter against the Indianapolis Colts to score their first points Sunday night.
They used a steady diet of their receiver tandem — Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison — to move 70 yards on nine plays, and they capped the drive with Addison’s one-handed catch for a four-yard touchdown.

Earlier in the drive, quarterback Sam Darnold had hit Jefferson for gains of 19 and 21 yards. Addison, meanwhile, had previously caught a 10-yard pass to convert a third down.
It was Darnold’s 21st completion of the game in 25 attempts and his eighth completion on a play-action pass in the game. And it made up for a first-half fumble that was returned for a Colts touchdown.
