Flames’ Pospisil gets Wednesday hearing for hit

NHL

Calgary Flames forward Martin Pospisil will have a disciplinary hearing Wednesday for boarding Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn on Monday night.

Pospisil faces an extended suspension after hitting Dunn from behind during the third period of the Flames’ 4-2 home loss, contact that Kraken coach Dave Hakstol called “garbage” after the game.

Pospisil was assessed a game misconduct and ejected. Dunn appeared to be in pain but was able to skate to the bench after the hit at the 13:41 mark.

Pospisil, 24, has six goals and nine assists through 45 games in his rookie season with the Flames, who drafted him in the fourth round in 2018. Including 17 on Monday, he also has 72 penalty minutes.

He was ejected from Calgary’s 4-1 victory at Boston on Feb. 6 after cross-checking Bruins captain Brad Marchand, but did not face further discipline in that incident.
