The SEC will continue to play eight conference games in 2025, plus one required opponent from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 or major independent, the league announced Wednesday.
The SEC will play its first season as a 16-team conference this fall with Oklahoma and Texas as members, and the 2025 schedule is similar to what fans will see this fall. Schools will play the same opponents they are scheduled to face this year, with sites changed for equal home and away games over the course of the two seasons.
“We continue to monitor changes across college sports as they relate to future scheduling,” SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said in a prepared statement. “Continuing with our current format for the 2025 season provides additional time to understand the impact of the changes happening around us as we determine the appropriate long-term plan for SEC football scheduling.”
The 2025 season will be the second year that the SEC title game will feature the top two teams in the conference standings at the end of the regular season, as the SEC has eliminated divisional standings beginning this fall.
The SEC presidents and chancellors approved the 2025 schedule last week following a recommendation from the league’s athletic directors. The 2025 opponents and sites are as follows:
