Stars sign Lindell to a 5-year, $26.25M extension

Dallas Stars defenseman Esa Lindell agreed to terms on a five-year, $26.25 million contract extension, multiple outlets reported Tuesday.

Lindell, 30, is entering the final season of a six-year, $34.8 million contract he signed in 2019. The new deal will take him through the 2029-30 season.

The veteran recorded 26 points (5 goals, 21 assists) while playing in all 82 games last season. He added five points (3 goals, 2 assists) and logged an average of 24:45 of ice time during 19 games in the playoffs.

Lindell has totaled 191 points (49 goals, 142 assists) in 604 career games since being selected by the Stars in the third round of the 2012 NHL draft.
