Wizards-Pacers summer league game postponed

NBA

LAS VEGAS — The NBA announced Sunday afternoon that the summer league game between the Washington Wizards and Indiana Pacers has been postponed because of health and safety protocols.

Because the Wizards had several players in contact tracing, they didn’t have enough players available to play Sunday night against Indiana — the first of five games Washington is scheduled to play this week in Las Vegas as part of the annual summer tournament.

Washington is next scheduled to play Tuesday night against the Sacramento Kings.

The Wizards were one of the teams hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic during the season, spending two weeks shut down in January after several players contracted the virus.

All 30 NBA teams are scheduled to play five games here over the next 10 days, with games beginning Sunday and going through Aug. 18.
